Free Soothing Sounds/White Noise Program

I’m addicted to white noise; I pretty much can’t fall asleep without some sort of constant/cycling noise (like a fan or even a hairdryer) in the background. I’ve considered buying one of those pricey “soothing sounds” machines you can find at places like The Sharper Image, or even just the “relaxing music” compilations found at Chopra Center and the like.

Luckily for me and my bank account, Peter Hirschberg has released the “Charityware” program Aire Freshener - it’s got quite a few background natural/soothing sound loops, and even doubles as a CD player program. My favorite is definitely the “Campfire” sound, but there’s at least twenty different ambient sounds to choose from. Direct download is here, so enjoy… and thanks, Peter!

Free Customized Business Cards

Just think: if you take advantage of VistaPrint’s free offer to receive 250 customized business cards, you can finally start entering (and hopefully winning) all those “Win a FREE LUNCH!” fishbowl raffles you always see at your local sandwich shop. You do have to pay shipping, but I think 250 chances at free lunches is worth the $5 - plus it’s just so damned cool to have your own business cards. You get to choose from a variety of designs - both sleek, modern themes or clip art related to your particular business.

It’s a pretty sweet deal if you’re at all in need of business cards, or just want them for the cool/hmm, this could be useful/hey, free lunch! factor. I’m ordering my 250 up to help promote Posh Freebies, because really… why not? Professionally printed, full-color, completely customized… I’m sold. Are you? Click to to play around with the personalization options and see if you can find a combination worth your five bucks.

Free LUSH Cosmetics Products

LUSH Cosmetics is having their annual end-of-the-year inventory/limited edition clean-out promotion right now: Clean Slate ‘08 lasts until supplies run out, and it’s basically a buy-one-get-on-free kind of deal, specifically aimed at their holiday & limited edition products.

Essentially, the promo boils down to this: Buy any one of their decadent Holiday limited edition items, and you’ll get a free item of equal or lesser value absolutely free (you choose which item at checkout). The limit is SEVEN free items, so you can get pretty stocked up through this BOGO promotion. So if visions of eggnog flavored lip balms and sparkly pink cotton candy scented shower gels are dancing in your head right now, you should get on this sooner rather than later.

Free DVD With Playboy Subscription

Any savvy deal-shopper knows that the best time to grab a magazine subscription is when they’re offering free goodies as an incentive. Now is that time when it comes to Playboy Magazine. For a limited time only, you can get a yearlong (12 issues) subscription to the iconic magazine for $15.96 (a little more than $1/issue) AND you’ll get a bonus free DVD with purchase. The DVD is something called “Nude Celebrities”, which seems pretty self-explanatory.

So if you’ve been wanting to treat yourself to some pretty ladies in your mailbox every month, there’s really no better opportunity than this one. This subscription/DVD set also makes a great last-minute Holiday gift purchase, and from my experience, magazine subscriptions are always a big hit. Click to get your year-long supply of cute girls & free DVD now!

Free $10 igourmet Gift Card

The Jarlsberg Cheese marketing department is conducting an online research survey with a great, no-strings-attached incentive. Basically, if you live in or around New York, Chicago, San Diego, or Los Angeles, you can fill out a short survey to have a $10 igourmet gift card mailed to you as a reward. The survey is short and sweet, without requiring you to sign up for spam or any other overs, so this is the real deal.

If you like Norwegian or just imported cheese in general AND live in the appropriate market, you’d be really silly to not take advantage of this offer. I think igourmet is amazing and am seriously bummed that I don’t live in any of the applicable locations. Click to take the survey and get your free deliciousness!

Free Everyday Minerals Sample Kit

I hate most foundation. It’s usually heavy, clogs your pores, and can look really cakey if not applied just right. So when I was recently searching for a new foundation, I looked into mineral makeup. It’s extremely popular right now, mostly because it’s supposedly good for your skin, doesn’t cause breakouts, and looks extremely natural while providing amazing coverage.

I was told by almost everyone that I asked that the way to go was Everyday Minerals. Reason being not only that their products have a great reputation, but for new customers, they offer a free sample kit - just pay $3.65 in shipping and you get substantial samples of three foundation shades, one blush shade, and one concealer shade. The best part is that what shades you receive is completely up to you - so you can figure out what works with your skin tone, but don’t have to try out the generic “light, medium, dark” samples that most companies give out. I received my kit earlier this week, and I’m instantly hooked. The coverage is great, the finish is silky-smooth, and it looks natural and not at all cakey. If you’re in the market for new makeup, this is definitely an offer to take advantage of.

Free 14-Day Supply of Perfect Kitty Litter

As previously mentioned, I have four cats. FOUR. To put it bluntly, that’s a lot of cat turds. Which in turn means that I go through kitty litter like it’s my job. So while a a free 14-day trial of Perfect Litter is awesome, it only last about five days in this house. But still, free is free, right? Plus Perfect Litter is one of those cool, innovative products that does more than just clump cat poop: It will actually test your cat’s urine & alert you to if your poor baby kitten has a urinary tract infaction - a surpisingly common & nasty problem for cat owners. The litter turns hot pink if your cat is afflicted, and you’ll know that a visit to the vet is in order. Furthermore, the stuff is flushable, dust-free and low-tracking, and has some powerful odor-killing properties. Pretty much everything you could ever ask for in a cat litter, right? You do have to pay $3.95 shipping, since kitty litter is pretty heavy… but them’s the breaks.

Free Sample: Gourmet Hot Cocoa

I am a bonafide hot chocolate addict. I usually have at least three varieties (white chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate with marshmallows) and a cupboard full of flavor syrups and creamers. Especially in the winter months, I can drink as much as 4-5 cups per day. So these complimentary hot cocoa samples are right up my alley! I’m looking forward to a nice, warm cup of cocoa with a dollop of whipped cream & caramel sauce, curling up beside our fireplace, and… probably watching Attack Of The Show! or something. Whatever. Point being: free stuff rules, free yummy stuff is even better!

Free Senseo Original Coffee Maker

If you’re a coffee junkie (or just crazy about sleek kitchen appliances), you MUST try the Senseo - I have the original model and it’s truly fabulous. Not only does the coffee pod system eliminate messy coffee grounds and make cleanup all but nonexistent, your cup of coffee is produced within thirty seconds. No joke. You can go from “Hmm, coffee would be nice” to sipping a steaming cup of java within a minute! The Senseo produces a smooth, frothy-on-top confection that seriously rivals your local Starbucks. The best part? The Senseo models begin around $65, but if you fill out the survey at Share Senseo, you can get approved to get your very own Senseo Original shipped to you for a whopping $15 (to cover shipping; the coffee maker itself is free). They also include a box of goodies: you get a bag of coffee pods (I got dark roast, but I’m hearing reports of medium roast also being shipped out), steel coffee pod storage canister, five coupons for $20 off a Senseo to give to friends (after all, this giveaway is really an elaborate and awesome marketing campaign), and a random coupon for $1 off any Sara Lee product.

I got my invitation to participate within three days of filling out the survey, and received my Senseo two days after paying the $15 shipping fee. As you can probably tell, it’s true love.

Visit sharesenseo.com to apply for the $15 offer; if you don’t get invited to participate but still crave a kick-ass coffee maker, you can still get a pretty cool machine-and-goodies package at Amazon for anywhere from $60 (basic black) to $80 (various colors).

Free Sample: Jergen’s Natural Glow Lotion

I live on a college campus, and if there’s one thing that seems to be true about American women lately it’s that we’ve all gone tan-crazy. Most girls I see walking around on campus & in classes are sporting a year-round golden (or sometimes, sadly, orangey-red) glow. While many of them still opt for the skin-damaging tanning bed route, most chicks are wising up to the beauty of gradual tanners. These wonder-products take the place of your normal body lotion, and impart a natural-looking tint that gets a shade darker each day that you use the lotion. Jergen’s Natural Glow was pretty much the first product in this vein that came out and got it right, and it’s still probably the top selling gradual tanning lotion. I know that whenever I hit the body lotion aisle of local stores, the Jergen’s section is usually picked clean by all its devoted followers.

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, you’re in luck: Jergen’s is currently offering free samples of their Natural Glow Body Lotion for anyone who hasn’t yet hopped on the bandwagon. So grab yours and chase off the winter pasties!
